Oral PresentationThis is a featured page

All sections of 201 must include an oral component. In this section it is fulfilled with a semester-end presentation. In this presentation you will present the class an example of your work from the semester and talk about it in terms of difficulties, successes, and what you learned from the project; your Process Log might be of great value here.

For example, you might discuss:

  • Why did you decide to do this particular project?
  • What media/resources did you decide to use, and why did you choose theses particular resources?
  • What was your writing process for this project?
  • Did you see any similarities or differences in the creative process for this project compared to other work you did for the course?
  • Were there any surprises along the way? Difficulties? Successes?
  • How did you imagine your audience for this project? When you started; as you worked; once you were done?
  • Did you try testing your project with readers/users? What were the results?
  • If you could give someone wanting to do a similar project any advice, what would you say?

Depending on the length of your project, prepare your presentation knowing that you may not be able to show/read/play the entire project. Craft the presentation in a way to both present the project an address the relevant bulleted points listed above.

The presentation will be approximately 7-8 minutes, with a couple minutes forQ&A.
